Thursday, April 2- Play the cup game. Here is a link to the video tutorial. You can also join me live at 10 (Join Hangouts Meet) or 1:30 (Join Hangouts Meet) to play with anyone who joins the meeting. Remember to bring a plastic cup and have a flat surface to play on.
Wednesday, April 1 - Keep the beat to song. Pick your favorite song, pick some ways to keep the beat (clap, snap, tap/pat, step, hop, jump, wave, stretch and so many more.) A challenge is to count your movements to the count of 8 and then switch it up. If you do that, you have created a dance to the song as well.
Tuesday, March 31-Illustrate a song. Pick any song and draw images to go along with it. If you'd rather just color, click the link in "Musical Worksheets." My version of Old MacDonald is at the bottom of this page.
Monday, March 30- Make a list of songs that begin with the letters of your name: Add yours to this Google Doc.
Weekend Challenge, March 28 & 29- Play "Name that Tune" with family. You can either sing/hum a tune, find an instrumental version on the internet or even play it on an instrument.
Friday, March 27-Sing a book. Arioso is when you use your singing voice and sing anything you want. Singing books is a fun way to get started without having to think what to sing. Click the links on the song titles to see couple of videos of me reading and singing some picture books. Some books are already a song so it's easy (example: If your happy and you know it), and some are a bit different but repetitive patterns make it easy (example Old Black Fly). If you are older and only reading novels, read a page or two out loud in your singing voice (example: Charlotte's Web).
Thursday, March 26-Play an instrument you have at home. Do you have a keyboard, drum, guitar, ukulele, recorder, harmonica or something else? If you do not have any of those remember your singing voice is an instrument and you can turn your body into an instrument as well. Below is a video of poisonous pattern if you want to play a game with me
Wednesday, March 25- Watch a Musical or a concert. Watch one that is new or find one you've seen before and sing along. This is a great activity to do as a family. Get some popcorn, a blanket, and wear your PJ's. You can find some free movies on Netflix, Amazon, Disney Plus and YouTube. You can rent a variety of others on Amazon and Redbox. (Must get parent permission for that.) Playbill.com has some shows for free that are live recordings of Broadway productions. The Met Opera is also offering free shows (links below for those). Let me know what you chose!
Tuesday, March 24- Get up and move!! Play Freeze dance. Choose your own music or you can follow any of the links on the link page. My favorite is Freeze dance 2.0.
Monday, March 23- Do a music worksheet. Students in grade K-2 can color in their Carnival of the Animals Coloring book or choose a worksheet from below. Do as many as you want. Click here to tell me what your chose.
Weekend Challenge, March 21 & 22- Listen to a NEW radio station
Friday, March 20- Create a list (log) of a songs you hear each day you are not in school. You can do your own or use the this log to do it. See if you can listen to at least one song everyday. Some of you may need multiple pages if you listen to a lot of music.
Thursday, March 19- Sing along with a favorite song (or two). Click my choices for extra songs to sing Tomorrow from Annie and A Million Dreams from the Greatest Showman
Wednesday, March 18- Play and online music game (links are below)
